Fractal House

The tired external skin of the original house and mish-mash of extensions lead us to look into removing the roof when extending this project. Our aim to keep the gables and create a traditional frontage to the road, along with the complexity of keeping valleys clean, pushed us into the direction of a staggered roof form. The generous skylight which also follows the roofs pitches, allows you to feel like you're outside when wondering through the hallway. We have sought inspiration from the materials found around the Cotswold, such as honey coloured render, stone and slate, using them in a contemporary fashion.

The floor plan opens the house up to the fantastic views towards the rear and gives all the inner rooms a light, airy and open feel.
